Driver's Ed and a Doctor's Visit

My Exersaucer has so many cool toys. One that I just started checking out is this little green steering wheel. It's just my size! I've been practicing my driving skills...

Do you think it's clear for me to make a left turn, Daddy?

Hey, buddy! Get outta my way! I'm trying to get home in time for dinner!!! Carrrots AND Sweet Potatoes are on the menu. There's no time to waste!!!

Beep! Beep! What's the hold-up, dude?!?!

So, I went to see my friend Dr. Lassiter today. She said that I'm doing great and am super-healthy! I weighed 14 pounds, 10 ounces and I've grown another inch to reach 25" - I heard the nurse say I'm in the 25th - 50th percentile for length and weight... whatever that means! :) The nurse also said that the size of my head was in the 75th percentile - she said that means I have a big brain. Papa Charlie said that maybe I would get the Morehead Scholarship at UNC-Chapel Hill one day. I think he was trying to be funny, but I don't get it. Anyway, Daddy got to come to my appointment with Mommy and me today. It was nice having him there, even though he did get to see me all red-faced and scrunchy when they stuck me in the leg (THREE TIMES! What's wrong with these people?). Anyway, I've recovered from the long, sharp things that they stuck me with now and I'm ready to party all night. Mommy keeps telling me that night time is for sleeping. For a long time, I thought she was right... but recently I've started to have my doubts. :) Maybe I'll sleep all night tonight. Maybe.

Musings from Savannah

December was lots of fun! One day Mommy and I visited Daddy's school. Mommy seemed to know a lot of people - she says that she used to work there. I'm sure glad she doesn't work any more. We get to play together all day - that sure does sound better than work to me! Anyway, I got to see lots of my friends that day.
Here's me with Mommy and Aunties Sarah, Maria, & Elizabeth!

Since then, I've been having lots of fun! I got to celebrate Christmas THREE TIMES! The first time, Nana Daune, Papa Charlie, and Nana Lou came to my house. It was so much fun opening my first presents! The wrapping paper sure was tasty! :)
Here's a picture of me hanging out with Papa Charlie - he was showing me how to walk. SUCH FUN! I can't wait till I can really get around! I'm working on it a little every day!

After that, I went on my first AIRPLANE ride - all the way to Texas!!! Mommy and Daddy were super-excited because on the way to Texas, there was an empty seat in our row. I heard them talking about how nice that was because there was room to change my diaper. (I'm a big fan of that!) On the way home, though, we just had our 2 seats, so Mommy and Daddy got to show off their awesome diaper changing skills on their laps. I figured they had been stressed out enough lately, so I didn't give them any "surprises" during the "lap change" process. :)

When we were in Texas, I got to hang out with some more of my favorite people... This is me with Uncle David and Cousin Ollie on Christmas morning. Don't ya like our PJ's? Auntie Melissa and Mommy helped pick them out. Pretty snazzy, huh?

I also got to hang out with Grandma Judy and Grandpa Rod. There's nothing like these grandparent people... they sure are cool!

I'm not sure why, but Grandpa seemed a little surprised when I grabbed his ears. I guess he just needs some time to get used to it... I grab Mommy & Daddy all the time!

Here's a picture of me and Cousin Ollie. Auntie Melissa got us matching shirts again. They said "Best Gift Ever" - I'm not sure what that means, but Mommy said it was absolutely true. I guess I'll just have to trust her for now.

I also got to meet the Patterson Clan... Betsy, Steve, & Tom. This is my Aunt Betsy. It wasn't until our last day in Texas that I realized this, but she's pretty nice. :)

She even made me this super-cool stocking. Isn't it pretty?

Here's a Family Picture from my first Christmas...

Now, for the BIG news from Christmas... I got my first TWO TEETH on Christmas Day! I couldn't figure out quite what was happening at first, though. I wasn't feeling quite right, and I really didn't want to hang out with anyone besides Mommy - especially when it was time for me to sleep. (We got to spend a lot of time together... I even slept on her chest for 3 nights in a row. FUN!) There were a couple of times when I took naps with Daddy, but he wasn't feeling well, so I hung out with Mommy for the most part. This is how I slept in Texas.... (For some reason, Mommy said that she didn't feel "rested" afterwards. I have no idea why... I slept great!)

Since we got back home, I've been up to lots of fun stuff. I got to see Aunt Sandi, Uncle Paul, and cousins Jen, Jimmy, Amber, and Luke. They sure are fun - and I particularly enjoyed giving Jen lots of kisses. :) This is me with Mommy & Luke.

I've also started sitting up by myself...

... playing in my Exersaucer ...

... and eating solid foods ...

Sweet Potatoes are YUMMY!!!

What's the holdup, folks? I'm ready for MORE!

Mommy says I'll get to see my friend Dr. Lassiter on Thursday because I'm almost 6 months old! I'll try to get her to let me get back on the computer after that to let you know what else is new. Talk to you soon!
